Google puts song lyrics websites out of business by adding lyrics to Google Search Knowledge Graph

Why Google is wrong and why you should care.

It seems obvious to me that Google will eventually replace almost all of the websites which feed it. That`s not necessarily a bad thing because, in at least some of those things, Google has provided a better service than the entities it made redundant. Some replacements have been sub-optimal though, but you don`t get to compare because the original players are already out of sight.

The problem is, Google shirks paying taxes by lobbying politicians and taking unconscionable advantage of the laws it influences. Once all those small tax-paying businesses have been hidden from you and bankrupted, who will pay taxes then? Who will fund our social services?

At  least Bill Gates is using his money to leave a better world. +Larry Page recently said he`d rather leave his money to another billionaire, +Elon Musk. Maybe they`ve done a deal and good luck to them if they have but I don`t think Google has thought this whole problem through.

What would you say to Larry Page?
