CTR and Bounce Rate

CTR and Bounce Back to SERPS:
Any evidence for the following?
Re any particular search term - is the CTR and Bounce Rate (back to SERPS) likely to affect site-wide ranking or only affect one page/url?
ie..
1) one website page/url continues to rank well for a search term with low `bounce back to serps`.
2) a second (not really relevant to search term) page with a `high bounce back to serps` appears in the SERPS for the exact same search term (I have seen this) - could the second poorly optimized page affect the ranking of the first better one?

  • Bill Bean: As far as I know, Google doesn`t rank domains. If there were domain wide issues, I suspect a high bounce rate might simply be a correlation. Also, my understanding is that Bounce Rate does not impact ranking. Pogo-sticking is similar, but different. Bouncing back and forth from search result to search result could be an indicator to google that they need to serve different results. Another possible factor is dwell time. How long from the SERP to the result and back to the SERP. Article might be helpful: https://ahrefs.com/blog/dwell-time/
