Error in my sitemap.xml

I am using the Google XML Sitemap plugin for a wordpress website. After activating it and then adding "/sitemap.xml" to search console, I now see all these errors. How in the world did these get here and how do we fix them?

Suraj Gadage: +Valentina Huff ;this happens with WordPress websites. If you install any automated XML sitemap generation plugin, then plugin generates separate sitemaps for pages, posts, category, tags, etc. ;In reality we don't need these multiple sitemaps, you just want to ensure that your pages (webpage) and posts (blog articles) are indexed in search. Other pages like tags doesn't add any value to the users and chances are Google won't index them.

Please check your sitemap plugin settings and see if you have an option to restrict sitemap generation for pages and posts.
