Will canonical URL solve duplicate content?

Hi together, thanks for the quick admission. My english is not the best, but I hope you can help me anyway: I`m new to the Yoast SEO theme and wonder how exactly I can choose a page as the main page for Google. I can assign a second page with duplicate content to another page by giving it a Canonical URL. But how can I determine which is the "main page"? You know what I mean?

Nazmun Nahar: You will use the main page url in the rel=canonical tag. You should use this tag in duplicate content page and the main page (in the main page the is called self referencing canonical).
