Where do I stop with Schema?

Thus far, I have added some Schema markups that I feel would provide value to search results, such as product reviews. Now I have begun thinking about utilizing more of them, but the list of additional markups is seemingly endless and at the least, very overwhelming. Where do I stop? Should I really implement each of these? http://schema.org/docs/full.html

There are markups for "about" content, images, checkout actions, buy actions, comments, contact info, site navigation, tables and about a thousand more. Some of them are redundant with HTML5 elements (which I finally finished implementing on all my sites) so I would leave them out. But at what point is it pointless, a waste of time, or even detrimental to have all that extra code that may or may not actually provide any value to users or search engines??

  • Andy Wigglesworth: Just at least give you an answer of some sort.... obviously we'll be covering your question in our hangout on thursday, well, the guys will I am sure...

I have no idea if there is a limit, I generally just do the usual ones - whether it's a product or address etc etc and leave it as that and move on... oh, and occasionally breadcrumbs....

Obviously it's a google's whim whether it decides to use any markup in it's serps!
  • Lori Eldridge: I heard that the schema markup will not help you rank better, it will just enable search engines to index your content properly.
