Edwin Jonk: For Google it can used for long content. Namely Google can at a "Jump to" snippet. These snippets are frequently served for wikipedia pages. For example try this ;https://www.google.com/?q=republic+of+mauritius

For me the first result has a snippet: Jump to Republic (Since 1992)
