  • Pe xu: What are the most important SEO factors that a new site should have before "going online"? And are backlinks the most important ranking factor in Google's eyes? Thank you.
  • PromozSEO: First make sure your site is mobile friendly. Use semantic markups or structured data like Schema on your site. Use canonical tags on each pages. Rewrite optimized URLs. Make sure your page contents are all fresh and optimized with relevant keywords and LSI. Use innerlinking to boost the crawling and pageviews. Build quality links from authority and relevant sites. Diversify anchor text distribution and build links from different types of sites.
Link building is still important and will remain. The only thing you have to remember that you have to build quality links and do not have to worry much about the quantity.
Don't forget link building is a marketing thing so build links on sites from where you can expect your target audiences to come on your site.
Create useful content regularly on your niche, build your brand and authority.
