What are the best practices for h1 tag on a homepage?

  Alan Bleiweiss: There is never a valid reason to wrap a logo image with an H1. The H1 has a specific purpose for human site visitors. It`s meant, if used, to be the primary headline text ON the page, visible to people coming to that page. If you`re not going to use that text field opportunity to convey what the primary topical focus of a page is, then it`s better to not have an H1 tag on the page at all. So in this case, I would suggest you think about what makes sense for human visitors to the page. If you do that, the text you use would be naturally helpful for SEO.
