Title tags are too long

Does fixing issues with different pages on a site effect the over all SEO of all the pages on the site? For instance, say the home page has fine on page SEO but the about page doesn`t (title tags are too long, no headers, missing meta description, etc.) after fixing the about page, will it help the home page rank higher?

  • Jim Munro: googlebot doesn't see a site as a site. Each page is ranked independently of the pages that link to it or are linked from it.

As you know, Chase, I am not an expert but I imagine that it's possible that an improvement of the pages that contribute to its ranking might improve the ranking of the subject page.
  • Tim Capper: I don't believe it would benefit the home page as Jim has said.
  • Neeraj Pandey: Hi +Chase Reiner ;,
I agree with +Jim Munro ;& +Tim Capper ; It will not give you a ranking boost for homepage but in indirect way its always good to resolve these issues as they give you benefit Like:
1- Search engine understands your separate pages in a better way
2- Search engine knows which page to rank for which query and the chances are lesser for wrong page to rank
3- You get the maximum SEO Juice by working on these issues.
Furthermore, I completely agree with above comments
    Hope it helps
