Dumb SEO Questions

Tags and categories with only one or two posts in each?

Hey guys! I gotta question about a site I might be working on in the future....

What do you think is the best course of action for a blog that has hundreds of tags and categories with only one or two posts in each?

The blog has a few main categories and tags. But somewhere along the way the writers began creating their own.

It`s a wordpress site that gets a fair amount of traffic. I don`t want to ruin that by making a mistake trying to fix this issue.

Should I try to combine them somehow, or tell the writers publish within designated tags and categories from now on??

  • Dave Elliott: They are probably no follow links anyway(I'm not sure about that, check), it won't effect rankings and there may be better uses of your time That said if you are getting paid well or want to show some proper professionalism then put the hours in and do it. Good UX is good SEO is more conversions is beter roi is happy client.
  • Chris M Cloutier: They are definitely set to follow, unfortunately. But maybe this i something I can work later, or a little at a time. What you said about UX got me thing though. Thanks, +Dave Elliott ;
