Dumb SEO Questions

Should I create a new Google account and submit my new website?

Each time I start a new website the same question cross my mind - should I create a new Google account and submit my new website to Google Webmaster Tools with that new account?

My main Google account is very old, I had dozens of websites in the last 10 years. Some of them were very successful, but some sites were crushed by Pandas, Penguins,  groundhogs,  raccoons and other animals Google unleashed upon us.

Are my new websites stigmatized since its first day in existence just because I added it to my old GWT? Do Google pay more attention on webmasters that were "sinners"?

Is it maybe better to start it all fresh with a new Google account or I`m just paranoid??

  • Rotimi Orimoloye: lol
    groundhogs and raccoons. :)

I would definitely try a new account. Heck! Maybe even a new IP if possible.
Even if it is just to test this theory, and compare new sites in both the new and the old GWTs.

    :)

  • Ligatures.Net: I remember Matt Cutts saying Google can pay more attention on "sinners" like this: if a manual penalty has been set on a website of yours, they will manually review/check all your other websites they are aware of. But, they will not assume those others sites should be automatically penalized. You just get more attention, not necessarily penalties.
  • Nebojsa Djukic: Thanks for your answers, guys. To be honest I expected replies to be like "no way, Google take each website separately", "Don't worry and keep all your websites in the same account" etc..

After these replies I'll definitely create a new G account for new websites. I was never a spammer but I had some sites with thin content and with not so great backlinks. Nothing special, just links all of us created 5 and more years ago.

So, will you create a new Google account too? :)
