Dumb SEO Questions

Linking from an old blog post to a new one?

What do you all feel about linking from an old blog post to a new one?
I would imagine that since the "natural" order is `New Post links to Older Post`,  it would therefore be considered as attempting to manipulate search engines.

But I haven`t found any articles on it.
So has anyone done tests on this?
Thanks?

  • Toni Anicic: I actually like to edit some old posts and add reference to the new ones when it's useful for the user. For example, if I had an article about some service that's now no longer available but a similar service takes its place, I'd edit it and include that as a note with a link into the old article. ;
  • Rotimi Orimoloye: Yeah, this makes perfect sense.
    Hopefully it makes sense to Mr Penguin as well. ;
