I`ve read that redirect should be kept for 1 year

After a website redesign all the old URLs should be redirected .Once this have been redirected for 6 months or so should I also remove them with the Removal tool in Search Console or just leave the with the redirect for another 6 months or so. I`ve read that redirect should be kept for 1 year .

Christine Hansen: If you don`t see traffic to the old URLs, you can safely remove them - rule of thumb: for at least one year - personally work with 2 years here.
