  • Sajid Ali: using link in forum signature is good for SEO purpose or its bad technique now...??
  • Joseph Paulino: +Sajid Ali Unless you are doing it to expect a positive effect in your rankings I think it isn't bad. Forums allow them. Just do it for traffic. A link in your forum signature is what Google considers as an unnatural link. A link profile made up solely of unnatural links may get your site penalized. Join a few forums that compliment your niche where you're more likely to get natural links.
  • Sajid Ali: I am unable to find any forum relevant to my site niche but I join relevant niche conversation at every forum.. if Google count it unnatural then I am not sure its good to use..
  • Joseph Paulino: You can still try. But always mix in a few hard earned quality backlinks. Keep searching and you'll find them.
  • Ian Wortley: A competitor of one of my clients outsourced their SEO. The main SEO tactic seemed to be forum profile backlinks, many of them on completely unrelated forums to the business the links were to. It was working for a while, they nearly caught up with me, and then overnight they were gone. They still haven't recovered a year later. Basically, if you overdo any form of link building it becomes obvious and then you're at risk.
  • Kirk Fletcher: is used a lot by BH software so links of this kind carry little to no value, possibly even negative value depending on amount
  • SeoWix: in general Forum signatures are not bad if they are not built with BH tools. too many forum profiles in a short period of time will surely crash any website. the important thing is how this link profile is created. in equation if there are more links coming from bad sites and less are from authority forums, (quantity, relevancy and quality are important) then a "BIG YES" to see any SEO efforts going into drain.
  • Chanchana Sornsoontorn: It's not bad nor good neither! The link relies on PR & Relevance. And the other factor is how easy you can get those links. If you can achieve it easily = less reward in Google SEO.
  • Tim Capper: BAD = The only name you should use in a forum is your Name
  • Kalpesh Bharankar: Yes, It is bad because it will generate unnatural links
