  • Steven Ciccantelli: Is it worth the time and effort to set up Bings WMT?
  • Marty Eigner: Yes it is
  • Neil Cassels: It's very easy to set up - makes sense to do it.
  • Alan Shanks: If I can set it up anyone can. Very easy to do
  • Simon Hunter: Yes, easily done, well worth the effor t too.
  • Steven Ciccantelli: Thank you its just that I will need to copy and paste code and hope webmaster gets it right but will do.
  • Matt Staton: They could also download an XML file and uploaded it to the server. It's pretty straightforward.
  • Steven Ciccantelli: +Matt Staton we will see.
  • Matt Staton: If you need help I will do it at no cost.
  • Steven Ciccantelli: +Matt Staton OK thanks will try when I can make time if I have issues I will let you know.
  • Micah Fisher-Kirshner: +Steven Ciccantelli : Think of it like this: Bing is about 15% of the search market in the US, a little higher if you factor in revenue (and 30% if you want to count Yahoo). Is it worth your time to monitor 15-30% of your potential revenue?
  • Caleb Keiter: I have to agree with +Micah Fisher-Kirshner  ;here, and I am glad he brought it up. SEOs tend to focus so much of their effort on Google and Google alone. However, you cannot leave the remaining 30% of the search market on the table.

I actually believe that BWT provides more data than GWT does. The interface is not as streamlined, but the insights are valuable regardless of what search engine you prefer.

Yes, verify Bing Webmaster Tools. There is no reason not to!
  • Steven Ciccantelli: +Caleb Keiter +Micah Fisher-Kirshner will do sent code to webmaster and hopefully they can get it up and running. Is there a Bing WMT community if and when I have questions?
  • Micah Fisher-Kirshner: I believe this is where you want to look: http://www.bing.com/blogs/webmaster/default.aspx
