  • Mark Ketzler: If it relevant to your niche keep it. It helps build topical authority. If it is totally unrelated I`d delete it.

  • Michael Martinez: Group expertDon`t look at content only in the context of today`s search results. Is it useful? Are people getting to it by other sources (including internal links and site search)?

A Website cannot be and should not be all about what comes from Google.

  • Ollie Laver: Michael Martinez thanks for your reply. Can I pick your brain again please…

My articles are very long form and contain lots of subheadings.

For example, I have an article about the squat exercise and within the same article there are subheadings such as “is the squat bad for your knees”, “how often should you do squats” etc.

I get clicks into that article from different searches but is it beneficial to write a separate article just on “are squats bad for you knees” and link it to the main one? Or should I include all the info on each subheading within the main article only

    Really appreciate any input

  • Michael Martinez: Group expertOllie Laver For my own sites, whether personal interest, affiliate, or for business marketing, I create the kind of content I would want to find on those sites if I were searching for something in those topics.

There`s no formula or strategy that can tell you how to do that. It comes from the heart.

  • Abril Sarmiento: I think we shouldn`t produce content just so we can score or rank better. I`ve used every kind of KWs with my clients, and it`s obvious some will do better than others, but if the information has to be useful and enjoyable by your audience.

I would also say, because I read the question you made to someone else: Don`t make your content so very long. There`s no need to use more than 800 words, usually, because most people are not interested in length. And I say that as someone that likes to read. I really wouldn`t mind reading 1500w on squats, but most people are definitely not like that.

Besides, if your subheading has the question format, it`s better to go straight to the point and add some good copy to bring the reader to the website, but also to produce the quick answer most people are looking for.

  • Natalia Szwarc: As long as people read it - don`t. It may convert readers to mailing list or even to buy something from you.
