I`m trying to do Change of Address in Webmaster but it doesn`t seem to work

  Valentina Huff: I'm trying to do Change of Address in Webmaster specifically for sites that I've specified a preferred domain. When I try to do Change of Address for www.example.com, its preferred domain example.com is not in the Select a Verified Site drop-down. Any ideas as to why or what I should do?

  Dave Elliott: you need to make a separate webmaster tools site for example.com and THEN change the preferred domain of www. to the non www version.  ;Which is a bit silly.

  Valentina Huff: +Dave Elliott ;Do you mean make a separate Webmaster Tools account? You're right that seems so odd! I was able to have both versions of the domain in Webmaster Tools (www and non www) and specify the preferred domain in one account so I figured I could do the Change of Address Tool in the same account too! Have you had experience with this? Thanks for your feedback!!

  Tony McCreath: Recently Googles push for people to move to https has highlighted that the change of address tool is limited when it comes to dealing with https and subdomains. They are working on it.
  
  With regard to a www move you just need to verify both then set your preferred domain in the Site Settings. No change off address required.
