I want to rank organically in a city and in local maps

SEO question - I have a local business website with multiple physical locations and I`ve created city pages that I want to rank in that city organically and in local maps. Do I create citations pointing to those city pages to help with maps ranking, or just to the main url of the website?

YOUR ANSWERS

Selected answers from the Dumb SEO Questions Facebook & G+ community.

  • Tim Capper: If you have physical locations you should be creating location landing pages for those locations.

Your GMB should point to these and these are the pages that shpuld be included in the citation for the physical location

These location pages, would sit within a City / State category - you do not build citations to this.
  • Brenda Michelin: Also, make each page unique to the location. Include local anomalies and quirks.
