I have a specific question regarding "SEF" URLs for product pages in webshops.
Say i have a webshop with a product category, with this URL:
www.???.com/superheroes/
I have a product with this alias:
optimus-prime
The product page URL is:
www.???.com/superheroes/optimus-prime
Now i want to prepend the product system ID to the product alias, so that the URL becomes:
www.???.com/superheroes/99-optimus-prime
(99 is the system ID of the product)
My question is this:
In regards to SEO, specifically Google SERP rankings, does it make any notable difference when using one product URL over the other?
www.???.com/superheroes/optimus-prime
vs
www.???.com/superheroes/99-optimus-prime
The reason I´m interested in this question is because, as a programmer, i prefer using this product URL:
www.???.com/superheroes/99-optimus-prime
because it makes system alias generation 100% fail safe for CMS routing purposes.
