I can`t find keywords to optimize my website

Hello everyone! I`m new here and I have a burning (and probably dumb) SEO question: I can`t find keywords to optimize my website and social for because all the tools that I use give back zero results for what I think are interesting keywords.I am an italian freelance translator that specializes in translations for marketing. Optimizing for "Online Translator" is out of the question, as that keyword leads to free online transaltion tools like Google Translate. "Freelance Translator" is taken by agencies or platform, so another no go.One must go with more specific keyword such as "Italian marketing translations" or "Italian marketing translator" but when one does that, here`s the result.https://trends.google.it/trends/explore?geo=GB...What can I do?If I actually Google for those keywords, there are a thousand collegues of mine that show up on the SERP!Why are then the tools not displaying any data?Does this means that we are all optimizing for a keyword that our potential client do not Google for?

  • Michael Martinez: Unfortunately, I cannot view the report your link generates. Nor can I link to a similar report.

Try looking at the "query associate" widget below the main report for the trend "traduzione argomento".

  • Elena Volpato: Michael Martinez I don`t know why the link doesn`t work but essentially for all the categories it tells me that there are no sufficient data to be displayed. I can`t see any "query associate" either.

  • Michael Martinez: Elena Volpato Did you search for "traduzione argomento" in Google Trends?

Their interface doesn`t allow sharing links. You need to replicate the query yourself.

  • Elena Volpato: Michael Martinez I actually did a comparison between "Italian marketing translator" and "Italian marketing translations" to see which of the two is searched the most. They also don`t give results singularly.

If now I try with "Traduzione" the query did not help me. Those are queriea of people wanting the immediate translation of specific words i.e. a quick answer on Google Translate or other tools.I need to be found by people who need translation services and avoid all the keyword that are already taken by online tools

  • Michael Martinez: Elena Volpato Are you trying to research queries in the Italian language or in the English language?

  • Michael Martinez: Elena Volpato Are you trying to optimize for English language queries or Italian language queries?

  • Elena Volpato: Michael Martinez both

  • Elena Volpato: Michael Martinez I just used examples in English in this group so everybody can understand

  • Michael Martinez: Elena Volpato It sounds like even Google Trends will display different results based on location.

You could try changing the location settings in Google Trends. Also, you may get slightly different results if you click on the menu and use "Explore" instead of typing your queries into the query box at the top of the home page.

I know it looks like the exact same research tool, but I`ve documented differences between them.

For this kind of keyword research, though, you`ll probably do better looking for queries where people ask how to translate things or why translation tools don`t work well rather than queries that directly relate to hiring a translator.

  • Elena Volpato: Michael Martinez alright, I`ll try these! Thank you
