How do you tell Google and other search engines that you do not want to appear in search?

How do you tell Google and other search engines (mainly Bing) that you do not want your company to appear in a search for a keyword? ?

  • Brad Sacks: How do you tell Google and other search engines (mainly Bing) that you do not want your company to appear in a search for a keyword? ;
  • Devin Peterson: I don't think you can do that specifically. Removing the keywords from your content or blocking the bots may be the only way. Is there a reason you don't want certain words to trigger your results?

    In Paid Search you can use Negative keywords, but not in organic search.
  • Brad Sacks: Really bad CTR because the word is partially in the domain name but not tremendously relevant to the site.
  • Devin Peterson: The CTR will only reflect the relevance of that keyword and should not hurt the ranking of your site for other keywords.
