Different ranking factors on desktop as opposed to mobile

Hi Guys, I am wondering if anyone can help me with information about the different ranking factors on desktop as opposed to mobile? On desktop my site ranks in the top 3 for the main keyword. However for the same keyword search on mobile (at same location as my desktop) my site ranks around 5-6. My mobile landing page is a Wordpress page created specifically to look good on mobile devices so it is a 301 redirect from my main homepage (when searches are done using mobile) Is this redirect a major issue affecting my ranking? What other factors could be affecting my mobile ranking aside from geographical location?
