Can 2 pages on the top 10 have the same title in the serps?

Can 2 pages on the top 10 have the same title in the serps? So if you want to rank in top 10 for a specific keyword , does the title of your page has to be different than the other sites of top 10?

I`ve noticed google never rank me in top10 when the title is the same as other page already there, but maybe is it just coincidence .for some keywords is hard to find original titles
