Hi Guys, any research into rel="sponsored" on links vs no link attribute e.g. normal do-follow, which is more powerful?

  • Michael Martinez: There is no reliable method to determine something like that. Google implies they`ll make the decision about how to handle these links on a site-by-site basis. Maybe they do, maybe they don`t.

    You could try an experiment where you use relatively unique anchor expressions in each type of link and see if they pass to their destinations.

    However, just because a link passes anchor text doesn`t guarantee that it helps with rankings.
