YOUR ANSWERS

  • Kim Romarez: What's your approach in 2014 SEO
  • Nishant Desai: Keep it straight and Simple - Content Marketing & Social Media will work.
  • Joseph Paulino: Going to try to consistently add fresh content, and give users more ways to share our content.
  • Patrick Rabanser: More common sense & logic and less assumptions & theories!
    Pretty much like 2013!
  • Rand Wilson: More fresh, unique content and following Google's Webmaster guidelines
  • Dave Elliott: less technical stuff, more content strategy
  • Tim Capper: Mark your pages up with schema. Great content
  • Chomp Digital: I think worrying less about keywords, more personalization, more use of schema like +Tim Capper has mentioned, and of course great content. Freshness will still be a factor and I have a strong feeling that more negative SEO tactics will be exposed.
  • Jon Dunn: +Jim Munro what happened to my comment? Did it not answer the question perfectly?
  • Kim Romarez: What's your Comment Jon? :) ;
  • Jim Munro: What was your comment, Jon?
  • Jon Dunn: I linked to a post of mine. If you didn't delete it maybe it failed to send and in which case I apologise!
  • Jon Dunn: My approach to SEO in 2014: https://plus.google.com/115669310911678086436/posts/ASNafZsBVTL
  • Jim Munro: Aaah I see. That would fall under the description of self-promotion, Jon. Consider that if all of our 8K+ members did that, nobody would be able to see the forest for the trees here. We prefer that you answer posts directly here without links unless for reference purposes, where your comments are subject to peer-review.

    We think peer-review is the best way to share knowledge and inspire confidence.

    I'll leave it for the present, +Jon Dunn,  ;but someone else might remove it. Consider replacing it with a precis from your link to avoid that.
  • Jelani Burton: +Joseph Paulino ;Promotion is a bigger deal now.  ;Even if you create evergreen content, you're next obstacle is getting people to see it.  ;Making content digestable via slides, infographics, memes, etc is key.  ;What other channels have you tried?  ;Reddit by any chance? ;
  • Joseph Paulino: +Jelani Burton ;Thanks! Will try to do all those including Reddit.
  • Jelani Burton: +Joseph Paulino ;Reddit has a user controlled community that is against promotional posts.  ;Make sure that you are contributing other sources as well to avoid being flagged for spam.
  • Joseph Paulino: +Jelani Burton ;Sounds like a good tip. Thanks!
  • Tom Willis: Content research. Content creation. Content promotion.
  • SocialProfiles.us: On page SEO, great content, social, social, social, paid advertising, quality, HUMAN reviewed paid directories of worth - regional and national (patch, yelp, yahoo local, chamber of commerce) meet ups, REAL guest blogging and commenting, REAL forum signatures where I'm active, earning REAL backlinks.
