Ranking for similar domain names

I am putting together a site and I have a question regarding Domain names. I have a long domain name from an old site that is www.1stclass-transportation.com Now the issue is I want to rank for limos. I recently bought LimosMN.com and I am setting up the site on that. A local competitor has LimoMN.com. Will this impact my site negatively in search results or should it be okay as far as SEO??

  • Christopher Denno: I am putting together a site and I have a question regarding Domain names. • Kyle Hawk: It should be fine. Having exact domain names are nice, but it's a fly on the wall in the context of the grand SEO scheme. What you should be worried about is branding. That domain is awful close to your competitor, as a user it will be extremely easy to mix those up. I would be more concerned about that aspect rather than how your domain will affect your SEO.
  • Christopher Denno: So as far as what you would do, would you then recommend using my old domain name www.1stclass-transportation.com and just really focusing on my content and to not dive into that domain name?

    Thanks
