More links to your website, or original content? Which one is better for better page ranking?

  I have a dilemma and I hope you can help me. Which one is better for increase Google page rank? ;
  
  - to protect the content of the website with copy protect and right click prevention
  - or, to leave the other to copy your content and link to your website?
  
  So the question is: more links to your website, or original content? Which one is better for better page ranking? ;

  I had a blog on free hosted domain. In start It has no backlink from high authority sites. It has only well amount of quality content. I had to update it regularly.
  
  After the recent PR update it has got PR3.

  Gabo Todorov: Mine has PR-1 only and I have more than 200 backlinks... I don't get it.

  al morris: I guess it depends on the content on your website. Is it worth other people copying it? One way or another if people want to take your content, they will. Fact of Life. Most SEO advice I have seen says 'create unique high quality original content.' ;

  Gabo Todorov: Most of the back links are from websites who has copied my article or something (with no changes at all)... maybe that's the problem. Should I take action to prevent this in future, or these backlinks are okay for me. Also I have some backlinks from websites with PR4 and PR5. Did I miss something? What can cause such a PR, Once before I had PR3. My website is for science articles and some articles has over 1k likes in Facebook. So the content is okay. My users like it.

  Kalpesh Bharankar: +Gabo Todorov Nowadays there is no thing like #pagerank. I would rather you to follow proper way of optimization to increase DA and PA. Google removed pagerank from google toolbar also.

  PA (Page Authority) - ;The value of linking page in terms of reputation.

  David Cohn: Gabo, have you implemented google+ author schema tagging to your content? That way if others copy the content you still get the credit for writing it.

  Gabo Todorov: Yes, I am using Google+ author schema tagging. So I don't need o protect my content but to focus on good back links. Thank you all! Now I have clear view what to do. :)
