  • Mikita Shah: It's still worthy..
  • Iblis Bane: Technically, exact match domains are supposed to have been devalued by the algo. ; Practically, I haven't seen much difference and find they still seem to do fairly well. ; No guarantees of course. ;)
  • Ranu Jain: I know so many keyword rich domains that were ranking at the top of the search engines with a very few back links.  ;Now, most of them got penalized but few of them are still ranking.

    So not very sure that keyword rich domains work or not. May be the sites got penalized because they were low quality ones. ;

    Here is what Bing's ;Senior Product Manager, Duane Forrester ;wrote at the Bing Webmaster Blog that "it is only a myth that in today’s ranking algorithms that a keyword rich domain name will make enough of an impact on your rankings to give you a major boost above your competitors." ;
  • Iblis Bane: Manual penalties or algorithmic ones? ; (Although the low quality would be the answer either way I suppose.)
  • Ranu Jain: I am not sure as they were competitors' site.
  • Iblis Bane: Not serious. ; As I said, Google did say they weren't going to weight them as much anymore, so it's what should have happened, although it's not technically a penalty, just a reduction in the importance of the EMD.
