  • Krupali Desai: If I do blog commenting in related site of my project, will it be helpful in SEO purpose?
  • Mikita Shah: Yes definitely Blog commenting is helpful. You gain back links for a particular site from Blog commenting.
  • Jim Munro: As reluctant as I am to disagree with Mikita Shah, I must disagree. :)

    I am not an expert but I think that, while it might be useful to maintain profiles and regular activity on authoritative sites directly related to your field of specialisation, random nofollow links from simply commenting on related sites might be likely to be worse than useless, i.e. they might be harmful. ;
  • Krupali Desai: Thanks....! What other factors should i implement to get good results??
  • Matt Raynes: Write great content for your own blog then shout about it through social media channels.. Do videos, video animations, info graphics and great images to complement whatever it is you do.
  • Ranu Jain: Hi Krupali,

    The blog comments have not been productive from the standpoint of building links. But responding to a relevant blog provides:

    -  ;Pride of authorship
    - Connects to the community that reads and comments on the blog
    - Establishes credibility
    - Leads to some traffic. ;

    These are some reasons to participate in blog commenting. However, from an SEO perspective of building links is an inefficient tactic.

    Here are some great link building tactics I have already shared in other thread some time back.

    - Giveaways, contests, and sweepstakes are great ways to attract links.

    - Try to get EDU links, these are the most authoritative links.

    - Developing relevant content can get you links.

    - Forum links: When placed on authoritative relevant sites they can be valuable.

    - Guest blogging: It is surely overused today but if you get a chance to guest blog on a partner's site or even a competitor do it!
  • David Harry: Seriously people? Wow... Here's an idea; creating things that are remarkable and engage with proper marketing and outreach
  • Greg Kristan: I would answer your question with a question

    "would you spend that time commenting on blogs without any link back to your site?"

    If the answer is yes then sure comment on related blogs and build a real community online. That is the whole point of the comment sections!

    DON"T JUST DO IT FOR SEO
  • Jaaved Khatree: Comment for the sake of healthy discussion, not for a backlink.
  • Dave Elliott: One of the keys to seo is doing as little for purely SEO reasons as possible.
