  Shirish Deshpande: Got a query in regards to local seo - I am promoting a dentist. Have already done the basics of local seo. Only receive 25% of traffic from expected city area. How do I get more traffic from expected city or localities within? Also just a thought - creating sub-domains with locality names within the city will it help. Please advise.

  Here are some of the factors that will increase site's search engine authority and accessibility for local customers.
  
  - Ideally every page should have your address and phone number. This is helpful for users but it also reinforces your location to the search engines.
  
  - Claim Your Profile on Google Local Business Center, Yahoo Local, etc.
  
  - Try to get multiple Google+ Local Reviews. Businesses with numerous reviews on their Google+ Local pages typically have more solid online standings.
  
  - Add a Blog To Your Site.

I still face less traffic from required city area/geography. Only 25% of total visits are from targeted geography. How do I improve visits my target area?

  Have you thought about manual submissions to local directories and sites listing dentists in the town/region? Citations are one of the strongest local ranking factors.

  Greg Kristan: I would put the major cities that you service on your site.
  
  For example : London UK Top Dental Service - Your Company Name ; (Title Tag)
  
  And then on that page show a map of your location along with mentioning the city or surrounding cities that your service is best suited for
  
  Also moz.com/local is a great place (only for U.S or maybe just North America) to check all of your listings and make sure that your location is accurate!

Since local business directories are good place to get exposure to your local business and definitely don't forget to claim Google Local listing, as it is now the most renewed place to list your business and get better Serps. Add your business to Yelp.com mantra and Yellowpages as well.  ;:)
