Dumb SEO Questions

Googlebot and hosting of PDFs.

Hi.

As I`m trying to wine and dine the Googlebot for a client`s retail website, I have a dilemma about what solution to use for downloading product PDFs (typically datasheets). Should I link to the PDF files hosted by manufacturers websites or should I have the PDFs on my client`s server? Saving on traffic and storage space is not an issue. Website is: goo.gl/oS9uaX

Any opinion, fact or idea is appreciated.

Thanks

Vlad?

  • Mach Page Speed: Download one of the pdf's from the manufacturer's website. Then search for a pdf compressor like smallpdf.com and upload it to see if it is compressed. If not... i would compress them and host them myself.
  • Vladimir Pandovski: Neat idea. Thanks.
