Duplicate title tags and meta descriptions

  Yasser Mohamed: Google Webmaster is suddenly showing I have duplicate title tags and meta descriptions when I have never had any in the past. ; The duplicates seem to mostly involve images on my site. ; The only recent major change to my site that I can think of is adding AMP plug ins - would this be causing duplicates?

  Pulkit Khurana: According to me, the plugins are designed to work together, so there’s no potential for them to be at odds and will never generate duplicate tags. But it is a little difficult to understand the problem without getting an in-depth look. Let us see what others have to say about it. +Dave Elliott ;

  Yasser Mohamed: Thanks +Pulkit Khurana that's what I thought too - the only other thing I can think of is maybe during some compression of files duplicates appeared? Some of the duplicate title tags are are images that are in my media library but not even on my site as far as I know . ; All of them are for pages/ images that have been on my site for several years without any issue but suddenly they have been duplicated. The only 2 event that have occured recently are installing the AMP plug in and some compression to speed up my site.

  Yasser Mohamed: Did you find a solution +Image Identity ? To start with it said ; I have 30+ duplicates titles, then it went down to 26 and now it is at 16!! I am hoping if I wait long enough they will disappear!

  Yasser Mohamed: Thank you all for your help - it seems to be fixing itself - now I have 0 duplicate meta descriptions and 4 duplicate title tags and I haven't done anything!

  TORMY VAN COOL: Wait, I put the tags on the AMP page and on the original page, as required by AMP. Nevertheless, I got the duplication issue. Google tells that title is duplicated.
